On August 24, 2016, New England Cable News aired a segment featuring the Achieve Program at Nobles. Achieve offers Boston Public School students the opportunity to attend a tuition-free academic summer and school year academic enrichment program on the Nobles campus. Achieve was founded at Nobles in 2007 in keeping with the school’s mission to make a difference in the lives of all young people, including those beyond the Nobles campus.

The summe instructional staff includes the year-round Achieve staff plus 25 top teachers from both private and public schools in Massachusetts. During the school year, Nobles student tutors volunteer on Saturday mornings to co-teach program sessions.

Some quick facts about Achieve students:

All Achieve scholars come from Boston Public schools and must qualify for free or reduced lunch (according to federal guidelines).

  • Currently, 28 Boston public schools are represented from Roxbury, Dorchester, Mattapan, Jamaica Plain, Hyde Park, West Roxbury, Roslindale, Charlestown and East Boston.
  • 97% are students of color.
  • 89% of students will be the first in their family to go to college.
  • 68% of students speak another language at home.
