Scholarship Semifinalists

ACADEMIC Sep 26, 2012

Eight Nobles students have been selected semifinalists in national scholarship programs. Caleb Kirshner, Jett Oristaglio, Hannah Peterson, Kevin Raposo, Daniel Toubman, all ’13 are semifinalists in the 58th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. About 1.5 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2011 National Merit Program by taking the PSAT/NMSQT. The nationwide pool of semifinalists, representing less than one percent of the U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest scoring entrants in each state. Semifinalists have the opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,300 National Merit Scholarships next spring.

Students Jonathan Sands, Spencer Thompson and Isabella Tuttle, all ’13 are semifinalists in the 49th annual National Achievement Scholarship Program. The program recognizes academically promising black students throughout the nation and provides scholarships to the most outstanding participants. Semifinalists are designated within geographic regions and are the highest-scoring program entrants in the states that make up each region. Students have the opportunity to continue in the competition to compete for one of some 800 achievement scholarship awards in spring 2013. Semifinalists must submit a detailed scholarship application to advance to finalist level.
