College Counseling Does "ED" Right

In the universe of college counseling and admission, acronyms are bandied about: ACT and SAT for the two primary entrance tests, FAFSA for Free Application for Federal Student Aid, GPA for grade point average, and many more. If you walk by Nobles’ college counseling offices, you are sure to hear yet another acronym: “ED,” for “early decision.”

Three members of the Flik staff were recently recognized for outstanding service and commitment at the 2012-13 FLIK Independent School Awards. Executive chef Mike Ryan was awarded Manager of the Year for Flik NE Region; Jacob Martin was named the Associate of the Year for the NE Region; and Director of Dining Services Matthew Burek received the President's Award.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of the winter mainstage play, “Pink Floyd’s THE WALL Reimagined.” More than 50 members of the Nobles community including students, graduates and faculty were involved in the making of this production. This was the Nobles Theatre Collective’s first drama and rock concert combination. The show ran from Feb. 20-23, 2013.

Announcing Girls Volleyball Program for Fall 2013

Athletic directors in the Independent School League (ISL) recently voted to include girls volleyball as an official league sport, and Nobles is excited to announce our inaugural varsity season in the Fall of 2013! In an Assembly announcement on Wed., Feb. 13, Nobles Athletic Director Alex Gallagher '90 said that, over the past several years, he has fielded proposals for a team from eager students and faculty alike.

Middle School Actors Shine in The Yellow Boat

The Middle School play, The Yellow Boat, opened on Wed., Feb 13, in Lawrence Auditorium. Based on the true story of Benjamin Saar, who was born with congenital hemophilia and died in 1987 of AIDS-related complications, the play brings to life the creativity, imagination and hope of a brave child.

Nobles hosted the annual Graves Kelsey Wrestling Tournament on Sun., Feb. 10. Teams from 13 ISL schools participated in the event and, despite scheduling and travel challenges due to a hard-hitting winter storm, the event was a huge success.
