Under the direction of Alexi Paraschos, the gospel group Imani performed its first full-length concert on April 13 in Lawrence Auditorium. The 25-member choir with four-member student band presented a set list that included “Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Round” and “Carry Me Home.”

Turf Field Slated for Fall '12

ATHLETICS Mar 29, 2012

Nobles will have a synthetic turf field before the fall athletic season begins in September 2012.

Turf has become the standard playing surface for field hockey, and the new field will allow Nobles to host tournament play in that sport.  The field will also extend practice and play time for boys and girls lacrosse and allow various teams to practice in all weather conditions.

Ready, Set, Travel

This March Break, more than 200 members of the Nobles community will travel to places near and far. Among these travelers, 20 Middle School students and three chaperones will travel to South Africa, where they will do community service and work alongside friends from Kliptown Youth Project and St. Brendan's School.

Three teams, boys' and girls' varsity hockey and girls' varsity basketball, showed remarkable talent and sportsmanship. All three teams are incredibly appreciative of the support given to them by their families and the entire Nobles community.

Nobles Athletics has once again achieved enormous success this winter. Three teams ended the season as ISL Champions: girls skiing won their ninth title in the last 10 years; girls basketball won their ninth consecutive ISL title; and girls hockey won their twelth consecutive ISL Championship.

Whether it's a quiet nook in the Putnam library, with friends and teachers in the Alcoves of the Shattuck Schoolhouse or down by the Charles River at the Saltonstall and Lincoln Boathouse, there's a place for everyone at Nobles. Over the years, as the school has expanded and updated its facilities, it has taken great care to preserve the charm and history of campus.

The Nobles science program is an area of the curriculum designed for experiential learning. Students form thoughtful questions and hypotheses through an array of learning techniques in the classroom, lab and field, including hands-on projects, experiments and design. This year, various grade levels engaged in three different science projects, allowing students to find answers for themselves.
