Why Nobles, From A to X

Academic Challenge

Nobles is a place where you will develop, grow and stretch yourself in the classroom. Teachers set high expectations and will encourage and expect you to perform at a high level on a daily basis. Nobles currently offers more than 25 AP level classes that prepare students to take the Advanced Placement exam.

Assembly

Four days a week, everyone at Nobles gathers for the community event we call Assembly. It’s not simply a place to hear announcements; it’s one of the most important places where community is built as we begin the day together. Assembly includes student and faculty performances, skits, announcements and memorable speakers from outside the school.

Community Service

At a school where students are privileged be exposed to so many opportunities, it is important to develop a sense of the realities of the world beyond the gates. Nobles offers an extensive community service program through long-term connections with organizations in Dedham, Boston and beyond. In addition to fulfilling the 80-hour requirement for graduation, students spend a considerable amount of time preparing for and reflecting on their experiences.

Diversity

At Nobles, we define diversity in its broadest sense to include students from different racial, cultural, socioeconomic and geographic backgrounds. We also define diversity in terms of people with a broad range of interests.

Five-Day Boarding

Although Nobles is a predominantly day school, we are proud to offer a unique five-day boarding program that allows students who live farther from school to live on campus during the week in beautiful facilities and establish close connections with peers and dorm parents.

Foster Gallery

Nobles is home to a professional quality gallery space that shows the work of artists of local, national and global reputation—and invites those artists to visit campus and interact with students. The Foster Gallery is also an exhibit space for faculty and student work.

The MAC

The Morrison Athletic Center (MAC) is the heart of the athletic program. The MAC includes a state of the art fitness center, two basketball courts, six international squash courts and excellent locker rooms and training room spaces. We offer several levels of sports to encourage participation for all levels of students, and our Varsity athletic teams have experienced dozens of winning seasons.

Mentoring Relationships

Getting to know your teachers, coaches and classmates is at the focal point of the Nobles experience. All teachers advise and are a part of an afternoon program that broadens opportunities for you to get to know both your peers and the adults in the community in many different ways.

Travel

Travel programs are often community service or language-based, and include spring break, summer or full semester opportunities. In recent years, Nobles students have participated in programs in Montana, New Mexico, New Orleans, Cambodia, Chile, China, Egypt, France, Honduras, India, Israel, Senegal, South Africa, Spain, Romania and Vietnam.
