Varsity Sailing

The Program:

The Nobles sailing team is based out of Community Boating in Boston and competes in the Mass Bay League. The team practices and races on the Charles River in double-handed dinghies, typically Mercury and Club 420 sailboats. From time to time the sailors will also travel to other venues to compete. The team is co-ed and generally consists of 12 athletes.

Sailors range in experience from novice to advanced. At the beginning of the season, the team works to improve basic sailing knowledge and boat-handling skills and there is an increased focus on developing racing tactics as the spring progresses. In a typical week, there are 3-4 on-the-water practices or race days, and one “chalk talk” strategy session on Nobles campus.
