We'll Give You 5 Reasons
Students

Academic Rigor
Nobles prides itself on being a place where students develop, grow and stretch themselves in the classroom. The teachers set high expectations for the students, who are asked to perform at a high level on a daily basis. Nobles currently offers more than 25 AP level classes which prepare students to take the Advanced Placement exam.

Relationships
The development of relationships is at the focal point of the Nobles experience. All teachers advise and are a part of the afternoon program which enhances the opportunities for the students to get to know the adults in the community in many different ways.

Diversity
At Nobles, we define diversity in its broadest sense. Our definition includes students from different racial, cultural, socieoeconomic and geographic backgrounds. We also define diversity in terms of people with a broad range of interests.

Assembly
At Nobles, there is an extremely strong sense of community. One of the most important places where community is built is at our morning assembly. Four days a week, the entire school gathers in the auditorium for an all school assembly. Assembly includes student musical performances, skits, play and sport announcements and some outstanding speakers and performers from the outside.

The “MAC”
The Morrison Athletic Center (MAC), is the focal point of the athletic program. The MAC includes a state of the art fitness center, two full sized basketball courts, six international squash courts, and beautiful locker room and training room space. In addition to several levels of sports to encourage participation for all levels of students, Nobles Varsity athletics has seen significant success in recent years.

Five Day Boarding
Although Nobles is a predominantly day school, we are proud to offer a unique 5-day boarding program which allows students who live further from campus to benefit from beautiful facilities in the evening as well as during the day.

Travel
Nobles offers an extensive travel program. These programs are often community service or language based and include semester long travel or summer travel. In recent years, Nobles students have participated in programs in Montana, New Orleans, New Mexico, India, Chile, South Africa, Vietnam, Honduras, Romania, France, China, Spain, and Senegal.

Community Service
At a school where students are privileged to have exposure to so much, we feel that it is important that they have a sense of the world beyond these gates. Nobles has an elaborate community service program. In addition to our 80 requirement for graduation, students spend a considerable amount of time preparing and reflecting on their experiences through journal entries. Nobles currently has strong relationships with Community Servings, NICE Daycare, Roxbury Prep Charter School and Boston Food Bank.

The Around The World Project
The culminating project for the 7th graders is an interdisciplinary project called the Round the World project or “RTW.” In this project, which lasts the final two months of the year, students are asked to plan a trip around the world. Their trip plan includes an itinerary, postcards in a foreign language, journal entries and a scientific analysis of some element of one country. The projects conclude with the “RTW Fair” where students present their projects to parents and the community.

M-Block
One of the big challenges for Nobles students is fitting in all of their extracurricular activities. M-Block has made it possible for music groups to meet at a time when no other classes are meeting. M-Block happens during two periods a week, when nothing else is scheduled but musical group practices. Our musical groups include a Concert Choir, a male and female accapella group, a string ensemble, a drum ensemble, a guitar ensemble, a jazz band, a blues bland and a chamber music group.

X-Block
X-Block provides a period for clubs and groups to meet once a week when no other classes meet. Click to view a list of all Clubs & Organizations.
