Faculty/Student Contingent Feted by Nobles & New Orleans Dignitaries
Three Fleur-de-Lis Ambassadors from the storm-wracked city of New Orleans, including the vice president of the City Council, visited Nobles April 19 to present a proclamation for the good works the Nobles community has done in helping to rebuild their city. Accepting the proclamation on Nobles behalf were Stephanie Chaston, D. Jared Hatch, both ’07, and David Snyder ‘08, who traveled to New Orleans a year ago and brought back 30 of their classmates during the March 2007 spring break.
Upper School Head Ben Snyder, who spearheaded the faculty group and brought to the experience his earlier work alongside son David, quoted Phillipians 2:14: “Do all things without complaint and you shall be a light unto the world.” Snyder went on to say: “We [Nobles] wouldn’t do it if we didn’t have great kids to do it with.”
In conferring the proclamation, New Orleans Councillor Arnie Fielkow promised that “New Orleans is coming back and will once again be one of the great international cities.”
