Marissa Gedman’s power play goal with 56 seconds left in regulation gave Nobles a 2-2 overtime tie with Brewster. The game was fast paced with many momentum changes as both teams attacked relentlessly and then had to defend furiously when the other team counterattacked. Brewster jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period, and that lead held up until late in the third period. Despite several good scoring opportunities, Nobles did not score until just under five minutes remained in the third period. Kaleigh FitzPatrick finished off a 2 on 1 break with Jackie Young by one timing Young’s pass. With 1:47 left in the period, Nobles went on the power play, and with goalie Taylor Blake pulled, kept the puck deep in the Brewster end. After working the puck out front, MK Cruise and Denna Laing had whacks at it before Gedman knocked it home. In overtime, Nobles needed a great glove save from Blake and a strong penalty kill from Young, Caitlin Fai, Michelle Picard, and Sarah Duncan to preserve the tie.
