Nobles lost an ISL heartbreaker to Middlesex, 7-8, in a battle of League heavyweights. The first quarter was played both cautiously and frenetically by both teams. Both clubs oscillated between fine execution and big-game jitters. The second quarter belonged to the Zebras as the hosts dominated the field of play by maintaining possession of the ball for the majority of the quarter. Disciplined offensive play combined with excellent faceoff execution allowed Middlesex to score three unanswered goals.

The third quarter belonged to the Bulldogs. In much the same fashion, Nobles controlled play aided by some stellar midfield play from senior captains Nick Raffone and Gus Young and juniors Phil Hession and Jack Palmer. Junior Sean Shakespeare scored two goals, the first off a nifty feed from 8th-grader Mikey Herring; the second was an unassisted effort. The defensive unit tightened up as well allowing very few shots to get to the cage. Nobles tied the game at 6 late in the third when Raffone snagged a Zebra clearing pass at the restraing line and went in unfettered for the equalizer.

The fourth quarter was exciting and ultimately dramatic. An early Middlesex goal was matched by another unassited Shakespeare goal with 4 minutes left on the clock. The momentum shift was halted as the hosts countered with their 8th goal a mere 10 seconds later. Nobles had a few excellent opportunities in the waning moments of the game which unfortunately were not converted.
