Thanks to Ben Snyder, who shared this photo of the Nobles-clad women's basketball team in Rwanda from our partner Shooting Touch, which is supported by the Rwanda EXCEL trip and Nobles Athletics. It came with the message, "Nyamirama women looking and feeling like a team these days. Had 88 women at practice last week."

Bill Bellissimo, founder of Crunch Time, visited the Innovation and Entrepreneurship class of Steve Ginsberg and Scott Wilson today. Bellissimo spent 20 years growing a web-based business that helps restaurants chains manage inventory and other systems. At times during his journey, he struggled to make payroll or pay rent. Now, his product is used by The Cheesecake Factory and Five Guys as well as Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts and some Disney properties. The SAS product that he developed is being used by 30,000 restaurants and cruiselines worldwide. "You have to trust yourself," he said. "Stuff is going to happen. It's going to come down to who you are [and your character]."

This morning, Romulus Maier, a political science professor at the University of Connecticut, spoke to AP European History students about Russia/ U.S. relations. His talk, titled "Great Powers and Their Insecurities," outlined phases in the relationship between the two countries dating back to 1800. He explained, "Leaders are defined by their visions; bullies are defined by their insecurities." Given the many insecurities, ideological and otherwise, of both countries, Professor Maier concluded that there is no end in sight for the tension between the two nations. The audience included Professor Maier's daughter, Maria Maier '14, who is now a junior at Yale University.

We had some special guests at assembly this morning...the Class of 1967! Reunion Weekend 2017 is off and running, and we welcome all our graduates as they return. Bob Pinderhughes '67, the school's first graduate of color, shared his Nobles experience over the past 50 years and received not one, but two standing ovations—one to welcome him back and a second in admiration of his courage and candor. His brother, Rick Pinderhughes '73, was there to hear him speak.

Not much to see here, just David Strasburger playing Taps in his nearly empty physics classroom to say goodbye to the Baker Science Building in its current configuration. Today was the last day for any classes in the building, with the renovation and construction project taking over next week.
