On November 4 and 5 at the Lincoln School in Brookline, Mass.,TEDxBeaconStreet/TEDxYouth@BeaconStreet featured speakers with astounding stories of innovation and courage: two of them were Nobles’ own students.

The Cripple of Inishmaan

The Cripple of Inishmaan

The Nobles Theatre Collective's fall main stage production of Martin McDonagh's dark comedy "The Cripple of Inishmaan" opened this week in Vinik Theatre. The acting, accents, costumes and scenery are phenomenal in this story set in Ireland's Aran Islands in 1934. Click "more" to see a photo gallery from the play.

Sheryl WuDunn Speaks

On October 25, Sheryl WuDunn spoke at morning assembly in Lawrence Auditorium. She is a Pulitzer Prize winner and co-author of four best-selling books. Paul Apostolicas ’18, whose mother is WuDunn’s first cousin, introduced WuDunn to the Nobles community, highlighting her broad accomplishments and dedication to helping girls and women throughout the world.

Middle schoolers rolled up their sleeves and donned their hairnets to peel, slice and crimp for the Annual Middle School Pie Drive! In addition to pies sold to the Nobles community, 150+ pies will be donated to the Single Parent Family Outreach Center, Cor Unum Meal Center and the Dedham Food Pantry. Proceeds will also support two urban agriculture locations in Boston: Oasis on Ballou and Urban Farming Institute. Tomorrow, volunteers will deliver pies, plus more than 75 turkeys funded by last week's SSEA/CSLC pizza sale, and prepare holiday "Carepacks" for deployed troops. #BigDawgsGottaBake photo credit: Ben Heider

Last night, Nobles held its second annual Nwanagu Family Dinner, in honor of beloved Nobles grad and employee Devin Nwanagu '05. The event connects graduates of color with current students, families and faculty of color, and fosters mentoring relationships to strengthen Nobles' mission of motivating students to achieve their best and serve others. Guests shared stories of identity and celebrated the contributions of people of color at Nobles over the past 51 years.

Nobles dancers gave a preview of this week's show this morning. The fall dance show takes place Wednesday and Friday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in Vinik Theatre. Be sure to catch performances by students from all classes, based on the theme of “The Four Seasons” but spanning genres from tap to hip hop to modern. Instructors Anna Loveys and Jillian Kinard promise some surprises and a great evening of expression.
