Noble and Greenough
From science faculty member and bird-lover Deb Harrison, an update on the mama duck and clutch of eggs spotted along the Castle path a couple of weeks ago: "?There is some e?xciting ?duck ?news to report ! At 7:45 this morning, Mrs. Mallard and her 11 ducklings? (hatched yesterday)? left their nest and headed toward the nearest water. In a tight line behind Mrs. M, and with great efficiency and sense of purpose?,? the ducklings made their way to the little pond of water next to the tennis courts parking area, hopped right into the water, and began swimming around. You may have a chance to see them swimming around when you are at the solar car races, and I'll set up a spotting scope to help everyone get closer looks. Thanks in advance for being thoughtful and careful observers so we can avoid harassing them. More news to come with some video, but for now, Mrs. M and her ducklings are doing well?,? and there are a few pictures below for you to enjoy. Mrs Mallard thanks you for your care and support during the egg incubation period that began on April 12."
