A Lesson in Scene Studies

There's a lot to be done before the curtain rises on opening night of a performance. Students in Todd Morton's Acting I class start at the beginning—taking "sides," cuts from a larger play, for scene studies so students can analyze both the dramatic structure and relationships among characters long before they hit the stage.

iPads in the Classroom

iPads have become an increasingly popular learning tool for schools around the nation, and now the trendy device has also made it into the Nobles classrooms. In the beginning of the 2012–13 school year, the Middle School launched an iPad pilot program for Class VI students and Upper School continued the program for Class IV, which began during the 2011–12 school year. Every student in Class IV and VI now has an iPad for classroom and home use.

Amor Towles '83 Talks Passion, Competence, Honesty

He briefly described Towles’ time at Nobles, his successful career in finance, and the road to his highly-acclaimed, first published novel, Rules of Civility.

Capsule Hotel

The Foster Gallery kicked off its 2012–13 season with a unique installation by Boston-based artist and repurposing architect Joe Joe Orangias. Using recycled furniture and other found objects, Orangias created a portable, mobile hotel.
