Class IV Notes

Welcome Class IV Parents!

This week, new and returning students will join to form what we hope and believe will be a very cohesive, civic-minded, serious (yet fun) Class IV Community. Awkwardness is guaranteed. Challenges will abound. New friendships will slowly form and old ones will be tested. We - Betsy, Kathy and Suzie - are thrilled to be your Class Representatives for the 2010-2011 school year. We are three of the myriad sources of support and help you will have at Nobles.

We all know that the transition from middle to high school will be a stressful one. After all, this is the year when our children will be told that grades begin to truly matter. What they do this year and in the next three years will undoubtedly impact their lives in countless ways. While we know that they will be hard at work and performing to the best of their abilities, we also hope to make it a fun and memorable year for them as well.

We will make it a singular goal for all Class IV parents to get to know each other as well as the students with whom their children interact. To that end, let us kick off this year together at our Class IV Dinner on Sept. 7, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the MAC. This casual social event is for parents to come together, share information and get acquainted or re-acquainted. Come greet old friends and make new ones after the summer break. Please note: RSVPs for this event closed on Friday, Sept. 3. Also, please note the location change; the dinner will be held in the MAC.

We have planned many activities. Your participation and support are encouraged, highly desired and valued. All these planned events offer parents a wonderful opportunity to share in the life of your children at Nobles. There is no substitute for parental engagement. Please participate as fully as your schedules allow.

Finally, we hope you are enjoying the last few days of this glorious summer and looking forward to a very busy freshman year. Please feel free to contact us if you have any ideas, suggestions or questions. Thank you in advance for your support and participation. Remember, your generous donations of time, money, ideas and energy will make a profound difference this upcoming year. Let us all join to create as positive a Class IV experience for our children as possible and a successful and memorable one for all. We can’t wait to see you all and begin our wonderful year together!
