Camp Sunshine

Since 2012, Nobles students have been traveling to Camp Sunshine, a camp for children with life threatening illnesses located in Casco, ME. Camp Sunshine is unique because not only does the sick child attend camp but so do their siblings and parents. As volunteers, Nobles students will work directly with the children as camp counselors. Their jobs could include working with the different age groups (children between the ages of 0 and 2, children between the ages of 3 and 5, children between the ages of 6 and 8, children between the ages of 9 and 12), working on the waterfront or in the arts and crafts room, working in the kitchen, or working in the activities window giving out equipment needed for different activities. Daily activities at Camp Sunshine include: wiffleball, kickball, archery, swimming, mini golf, basketball, kayaking, canoeing, arts and crafts, scooter hockey, camp fires, singing, dancing, etc.

Camp sessions are 5 days long and run from Sunday to Friday. The trip is open to students of any class as long as they are 16 by the first day of the camp session.

Check back later this fall for more detailed information on this trip, including dates, cost, trip leaders, and trip and financial aid applications.
