Community Service
Nobles believes in developing a sense of commitment to others. Students are required to spend the equivalent of one trimester involved with approved community service projects.
Journal entry reflections and site evaluations are a vital part of completing this program. Involvements in sites such as day cares, hospitals or food pantries are examples of opportunities of service. The school provides transportation to selected sites but, on approval, students may also drive themselves to independent projects. Students are encouraged to propose projects that fit their own interests but they are also urged to try new experiences.
Students may participate in service activities through the Afternoon program or plan vacation projects to fulfill the graduation requirement. Documentation of hours and site evaluations must be submitted to the Community Service Office at the end of each project in order to be eligible to begin the next season's Afternoon Program.
