Dress Code

Clothing worn must be clean, in good repair, and adhere to the letter and spirit of the dress code. Students found out of dress code will be asked to find appropriate clothing immediately or will be sent home to do so. Chronic offenders will be subject to further disciplinary action.

The final decision on the appropriateness of dress will be made by Class Deans.

Permitted dress on regular dress days (October through April):
 

For Boys/Men

  • Collared shirt (must be buttoned, collar visible)
  • Sneakers, shoes or sandals in good repair
  • Sweaters must be worn with a collared shirt
  • Winter hats may be worn between buildings on cold days
  • Pants


For Girls/Women

  • Shirts, sweaters or blouses with sleeves or collars
  • Pants
  • Dresses or skirts to the top of the knee (dresses must have sleeves or a collar)
  • Sneakers, shoes or sandals in good repair
  • Winter hats may be worn between buildings on cold days


The following items are not permitted on regular dress days:

  • All hats or caps
  • Sweatshirts (including zip-ups, hoodies or crew necks)
  • Denim (of any color) pants, skirts, jackets, overalls, shorts
  • Shorts or skirts that do not touch the top of the knee
  • Leggings or tights without a knee length skirt over them
  • Athletic wear, including t-shirts
  • Inapproriate messages on clothing
  • Rubber flip-flops
  • Tank/spaghetti strap/strapless/halter tops and dresses
  • Overly tight or revealing clothing, including leggings without skirts


September and May Dress

  • Dress shorts (to the knee) are permitted for all


Relaxed Dress Days

  • The Provost or Dean of Students will announce via email and/or in morning Assembly what is permitted prior to relaxed dress/Dawg Days
  • Permission for a team/organization "dress up" day must be submitted by the coach/faculty advisor to Bill Bussey 48 hours in advance.
