Co-Vice Chairs: This is a two-year commitment, serving the first year as co-vice chair and the second year as co-chair. As co-vice chairs, your primary responsibilities include overseeing the Class Representatives, PA closet, and attending monthly PA meetings and monthly PA Executive Board meetings. Additional responsibilities include: helping to develop a meeting agenda for both the PA and PA Executive board meetings; holding monthly PA meetings; working with class reps and event coordinators to plan and execute events; liaising with the head of school and/or other Nobles faculty; attend Nobles Trustee meetings, working on the nominating committee to select next year’s board members.

Treasurer: Responsibilities include: managing the annual PA budget and making sure committee chairs and Class reps stay on budget; Attend monthly PA Executive board and monthly PA meetings; developing the PA annual budget; providing monthly financial reports; working with event chairs to obtain cash boxes; making deposits after each event and coordinating reimbursements. NOTE: In your first year in this position, you will shadow the current Treasurer. While you are shadowing, it is possible to hold another position.

Secretary: Responsibilities include: attending monthly PA and monthly PA Executive board meetings; recording and publishing written records of meetings; writing the weekly e-mail notes which gets sent to parents; collect weekly blurbs from various PA positions to be submitted to the school for the weekly MS and US emails. NOTE: In your first year in this position, you will shadow the current Secretary.

Admission Coordinator: Responsibilities include: working with the Admission Office to organize and recruit Nobles parents to meet with prospective parents while their children are being interviewed and to call prospective and accepted families to answer questions about the school; helping with open houses, parent receptions in the fall and winter and visiting day parent coffees in the spring.

Arts Ambassadors Co-Chairs: Responsible for helping to enrich all aspects of the arts at Nobles including music, dance, theatre, voice, and visual arts. Organize two pre-concert parent receptions and an art parent enrichment event(s).

Athletic Cookouts Co-Chairs: Organize one to two home game cookouts in the fall and possibly spring to support the Nobles Scholarship Fund.

Athletics Liaison Co-Chairs (1 chair and 1 shadow): The athletics liaison will assist captains' parents, as needed, with the on-campus banquet process and any other on-campus room booking during the season. Liaison will assist captains' parents with on-campus space reservations in appropriate locations, catering, rentals, RSVPs, proper chitting of families post-banquet, etc. Each season, the liaison will get a list of the captains’ parents, liaison will reach out to those parents explaining how you can be of help, and follow-through with each team who plans to use space on campus for a banquet/dinner.

Class Representatives: Each grade is represented by two parent volunteers, with the exception of Class I which has three parent reps. The reps work with class deans and parent volunteers throughout the school year as they coordinate and organize all class events including parent coffees, parent socials and surprise lunches. Reps are also responsible for submitting communication to the monthly newsletter and the weekly parent emails when there is information to share. Reps also successfully manage the class budget.

Community Service Co-Chairs: Promote parent involvement in community service by organizing group community service projects. There are usually at least two community service outings.

Faculty and Staff Appreciation Lunches Co-Chairs: Plan and organize a faculty and staff brunch for the fall and/or spring. This brunch is designed to show the parents' appreciation for the faculty and all they do for our children. The coordinators work with FLIK to prepare a special meal and possibly ask parents for supplemental food donations, such as desserts, to make the event extra special.

Fall Parent Social Co-Chairs: Organize the PA Social held on campus for all parents in September.

Grandparents Day Co-Chairs: Organize Grandparents Day in September with the Development Office. The event brings grandparents to Nobles to spend the school day with their grandchildren. Responsibilities include: working with Development to coordinate lunch, parent volunteers and other logistics. NOTE: In your first year in this position, you will shadow the current co-chairs. While you are shadowing, it is possible to hold another position.

Host Program for New Nobles Families Co-Chairs: Work with the Admission Office to recruit Nobles families to serve as host families for newly-admitted families; help organize admitted student events in the spring. Please note that this is a two-year commitment, chaired by four individuals, with two chairs rolling off each year.

Parent Enrichment/Book Group Co-Chairs: Responsible for helping to create opportunities for parents to get together for events like book group discussions, yoga or ceramic classes, as well as different artistic, intellectual, fitness, or other activities that arise.

Parents of Independent Schools Network(PIN) Chair: Attend PIN meetings and lectures; report on PIN topics to the PA; promote upcoming PIN lectures to Nobles parents.

Parents Enrichment/Outing Co-Chairs: Arrange for parents to get together in a casual setting, for example, morning walks, fitness classes, museum trips, craft events, or educational talks.

Volunteer Coordinator: Responsibilities include: chairing the nominating committee to select the next year’s board member; working with all event organizers to recruit volunteers and donations; maintaining and updating the volunteer section on the Nobles website.

Yard Sale Co-Chairs: Organize and manage the fall Nobles Yard Sale; oversee advertising, collection of items to be sold, and the two-day sale. All proceeds are donated to the Achieve Program.

Achieve Liaison: The PA’s Achieve liaison will work closely with Nora Dowley-Liebowitz and Cat Kershaw to help ensure the engagement of the Nobles parent community with Achieve. The tuition-free academic enrichment program is designed for high performing students attending underserved Boston schools. Achieve is hosted on campus during the summer and on Saturdays during the school year. The Achieve liaison will help to brainstorm, plan and execute gatherings and events for parents that will benefit the program. In addition to making sure that all parents are informed and aware of Achieve-related opportunities, the liaison will also help organize and manage volunteers throughout the year.

Green Team Liaison: Nobles is committed to environmental sustainability in all areas. The PA Green Team Environmental Stewardship liaison will work with the PA, student members, as well as faculty and staff. The Green Team liaison will help communicate ongoing efforts and promote new environmental sustainability efforts, including the anti-idling initiative, recycling, avoiding plastic bottles at PA events and e-waste disposal.
