Class I College Timetable

Summer 2011:

  • Students and parents/guardians visit colleges:

   – Attend information sessions
   – Take tours
   – Interview (where appropriate)

  • Contact coaches (when appropriate) and contact professors
     
  • Students and parents/guardians meet with college counselor to:

   – Revise lists
   – Review College Office assessments of outcomes
   – Prepare for interview
   – Complete Common Application and two or more college essays

  • Students attend Essay and Interview Workshops, sponsored by the College Counseling Office.

   – Friday, July 15, 2011, at 9 a.m., in the Memorial Room
   – Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at 9 a.m. in the Memorial Room
   – Tuesday, August 16, 2010, at 9 a.m. in the Memorial Room

August 12, 2011:

  • Registration deadline for Sept. 10 ACT.
     

September—December 2011:

  • College Counseling Meetings: Students and parents/guardians meet with their college counselor -- See college counselor as frequently as needed.
  • College Representatives visit Nobles; students sign-up to meet with college representatives during free periods.
  • Division I athletes take official visits to colleges; Division III athletes take invitational/unofficial visits.
  • Students complete and submit Early Action, Early Decision and Rolling Admission applications.
  • Students Submit CSS Profile application for financial aid for ED, EA and/or Rolling Admission applications.
     

September 6, 2011:

  • During the Senior Retreat, college counselors will have a mandatory seminar for seniors on the
    "Nuts 'n Bolts of the Application Process"
     

September 9, 2011:

  • Registration deadline for Oct. 1 SAT Reasoning Test/SAT Subject Tests
     

September 10, 2011:

  • ACT
     

September 13, 2011:

  • "Nuts 'n Bolts of the Application Process Seminar" for Parents from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in Towles Auditorium
     

September 16, 2011:

  • Registration deadline for Oct. 24 ACT
     

October 1, 2011:

  • SAT Reasoning Test/SAT Subject Tests
     

October 7, 2011:

  • Registration deadline for Nov. 5 SAT Reasoning Test/SAT Subject Tests
     

Mid-October 2011:

  • Standardized test results from SAT and/or ACT are sent to prospective colleges by the student
     

October 10, 2011:

  • Columbus Day Holiday: This is a good day for college visits, interviews or overnights
     

October 15, 2011:

  • Secondary School Counselor Forms due in the college office for all applications due at the college by Nov. 1
     

October 22, 2011:

  • ACT
     

October 24, 2011:

  • No School: Great day to visit and interview at colleges
     

November 1 & 15, 2011:

  • Early Decision/Early Action deadlines for submitting applications
     

November 1, 2011:

  • CSS Profile Financial Aid forms due for Early Decision/Early Action applicants
     

November 4, 2011:

  • Registration deadline for Dec. 10 ACT
     

November 5, 2011:

  • SAT Reasoning Test/SAT Subject Tests
     

November 8, 2011:

  • Registration deadline for December 3 SAT Reasoning Test/SAT Subject Tests
     

November 14, 2011:

  • Veteran's Day Holiday: Great day to visit and interview at colleges
     

Week of November 22, 2011:

  • Nobles' college counselors send home a confirmation of the college list with a brief comment
     

December 1, 2011:

  • All Secondary School Counselor Forms due in college counseling office; if not yet done, students must give recommendation forms to teachers (with stamped envelopes)
     

December 3, 2011:

  • SAT Reasoning Test/SAT Subject Tests
     

December 2011 (Date TBD):

  • Seminar on Financial Aid
     

December 10, 2011:

  • ACT
     

Before Winter Break:

  • Student informs College Counseling Office of either the final college list or the list of all colleges whose application deadline is prior to January 15
     

December 30, 2011:

  • Registration deadline for Jan. 28 SAT Reasoning Test/SAT Subject Tests
     

As soon as possible after January 1, 2012:

  • Financial Aid Forms (FASFA and CSS Profile) due for regular decision applications
     

January—February 2012:

  • Regular Decision applications due
     

January 2012:

  • First-semester grades and Mid-Year Report forms sent to the colleges and universities to which Nobles students have applied
     

January 28, 2012:

  • SAT Reasoning Test/SAT Subject Tests
     

March 25—April 10, 2012:

  • Traditional reply dates — many colleges reply to applicants earlier than March 25
     

May 1, 2012:

  • Matriculation deposit due on this date to one college only!

May—Early June 2012:

  • Wait-list decisions
     

June 1, 2012:

  • Graduation
     

June 2012:

  • Final Grade-report Form and Transcript sent to the colleges and universities to which each graduate will matriculate
