Members of the Noble and Greenough School football program take tremendous pride in being great teammates as challenges are approached with an unselfish, winning attitude — trusting and respecting the effort of each person involved with the program. Hard work, enthusiasm, discipline, courage, and sportsmanship are the cornerstones for excellence at each level. They lead to success, enjoyment, achievement, and positive lessons on and off the field.

Panos Voulgaris

Head coach At nobles since 2018

Panos Voulgaris is in his first year as head football coach at Nobles. Coach Voulgaris comes to Nobles after six years as head coach at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia. At Episcopal, he revamped the football program, leading the team to its first back-to-back Interstate Athletic Conference championships in over twenty years and leading the school to its longest stretch of winning seasons in over fifty years. Prior to Episcopal, Coach Voulgaris served as head coach at the Taft School in Connecticut. At Taft, he inherited a program that had lost 51 of its previous 56 games and quickly transformed the team into undefeated New England Champions for the first time in nearly thirty years. During his coaching career, Coach Voulgaris has helped guide his players to many top college programs including Notre Dame, Stanford, Michigan, Virginia, Northwestern, North Carolina, Navy, Penn State, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, Holy Cross, Williams, Bowdoin, and Wesleyan. A native of North Andover, Massachusetts, Coach Voulgaris currently teaches history and is serving as assistant director of admissions. He and his wife Shannon, also a devoted educator, live on campus with their sons James, George, and Charles.

Bob Moore

Assistant Coach At nobles since 2000

Coach Moore serves as Nobles’ defensive coordinator and running backs coach. He brings 32 years of coaching experience to the Nobles football staff. After four years as an assistant at the college level, Moore served as a high school head coach for 22 years with additional experience at the middle school level. Eleven of his head coaching years were at Nobles. Bob received a B.A. from The College of Wooster in 1985 and then a Master of Sports Science degree from the United States Sports Academy in 2000. He came to Nobles in 2000 and has served as the director of athletics, head football coach, assistant dean of students, concussion management director, biology teacher, and director of safety management. In addition to coaching football, Bob currently teaches biology, serves as director of safety management, and coaches the boys thirds basketball team.

Rob Murray

Assistant Coach At nobles since 2011

This will be Coach Murray’s 8th year on the coaching staff. After serving as the interim head coach in 2017, Murray will resume his duties working with the defensive backs and wide receivers. In addition to coaching football, Coach Murray serves as assistant athletic director and head baseball coach. The 2019 baseball season will be his eighth year as Nobles’ head baseball coach. Coach Murray was an accomplished baseball and football player at Weston High School were he played for legendary football coach John DiBiaso (Everett/Catholic Memorial), winning a state championship in 1991.

Stephen Jordan

Assistant Coach At nobles since

This fall marks Coach Stephen Jordan’s 8th year coaching at Nobles. He will work with the linebackers. After a successful high school career in football, wrestling and baseball, Coach Jordan continued his football career at Framingham State University where he was a four-year starting linebacker, two-time captain, First Team All-Conference, and All-New England. Coach Jordan began his coaching career at Newton North High School, where he coached football, wrestling and baseball. In addition to coaching football at Nobles, Coach Jordan serves as an assistant coach of the varsity wrestling team and head coach of the JV baseball team.

Pete Kendall

Assistant Coach At nobles since 2015

Coach Kendall is in his fourth year as an assistant coach on the Nobles football coaching staff. Coach Kendall played high school football at Archbishop Williams before accepting a scholarship to Boston College. At Boston College, he was a 4-year starter and 2-time All-Big East offensive lineman before being drafted in the 1st round by the Seattle Seahawks. Coach Kendall went on to play 13 seasons in the NFL for the Seahawks, Cardinals, Jets and Redskins before retiring after the 2008 season.

Cam Marchant ‘02

Assistant Coach At nobles since 2016

Coach Marchant assists with Nobles’ defensive backs and receivers. A member of the Nobles Hall of Fame, he played football, hockey, and lacrosse for the Bulldogs. He then attended Cornell University, where he played one season of football and four seasons of lacrosse, serving as co-captain of the men’s lacrosse team in 2006. In addition to coaching football, Marchant is an assistant coach of the boys varsity lacrosse team, teaches Spanish, works in admissions, and serves as Class II dean.

AJ Doyle

Assistant Coach At nobles since 2016

Coach Doyle joins the Nobles coaching staff from Catholic Memorial, his high school alma mater. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where he received a full athletic scholarship and was the first student-athlete commitment of the university’s first FBS football class. After his college career he returned to Catholic Memorial as quarterbacks coach and pass game coordinator. Doyle also serves as Combine Director and QB Evaluator for NextGen All America Camps, the nation’s largest youth football showcase.
