Find out if Nobles is the place for you to grow

Applying to Nobles

We want students to thrive at Nobles. Strong academic performance is essential, and we are also interested in hearing about your interests and activities outside the classroom. What do you care about? What would you like to explore? What can you share with others? How can you make a difference?

We seek students who are eager to join our community and contribute their energy and talents to whatever they pursue. Our aim is to build a community that represents excellence, curiosity and diversity in the broadest sense.

HOW TO APPLY

1

Create an application account

Once you have decided that Nobles may be a good fit, the next step is to create an account in Ravenna, our online application management system. Please create a student profile and be sure to use an email address that you will have access to throughout the entire admission process. Through Ravenna, families can manage their applications, complete required forms, request teacher evaluations and school transcripts,  register for events and view decision notification.

2

Schedule a campus visit

In an effort to learn more about our applicants, we require students to come to campus for a tour and either an interview for upper school applicants, or group activity session for middle school applicants. Families will have an opportunity to hear from current students and meet parent volunteers, all of whom will welcome all questions regarding school culture, curriculum, extracurriculars, food service and anything else you can think of. The admission visit lasts approximately 2 hours and is scheduled through Ravenna. We encourage applicants to register early. You do not need to submit the core application, application fee or statements before scheduling your visit.

3

Complete forms in the online application

Through your Ravenna account, you can fill out and submit all required forms starting with the core application. Applicants should then complete the student statement on their own; we are eager to learn about who you are and what makes you unique. The extracurricular activities form will give us a sense of how you spend your time outside of the classroom. The parent statement allows us to hear about the applicant from the parent/guardian perspective. You will also be able to send requests within Ravenna for teacher recommendations and school reports. We request that all records come directly from your student’s school.

4

Complete standardized testing

For Middle School Applicants

For middle school applicants, we accept scores for the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Our school code for the ISEE is 220680. Test results must be sent to Nobles directly from ISEE.

To register for the ISEE, visit their website.

For Upper School Applicants

For upper school students, we accept the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT). Our school code for the SSAT is 5368. Test results must be sent to Nobles directly from SSAT.

To register for the SSAT, visit their website.

We care about your children and how they grow —not just their cognitive skills such as writing and math, but also growing into good citizens with integrity, resilience, and teamwork skills —those skills that carry them forward into a successful life.

Character and personal growth are an integral part of a Noble and Greenough education. Certainly a reason you’re seeking to enroll your child with us is because you’re interested in an environment that focuses on instilling character values as well as exceptional academics, unique life experiences, and outstanding opportunities.

While a child’s personality and character have always been important to our admission process, we haven’t had a tool that we could use to measure the character skills your child is developing. Grades and test scores just don’t tell us the whole story of your child. The Character Skills Snapshot gives us richer holistic information and illuminates areas where Nobles can help your child grow, thrive and shine. It’s a way for us to get to know your child better and an opportunity for us to explore the ways in which Nobles’ community can enrich and develop your child’s intellectual curiosity, teamwork, initiative, responsibility, resilience, self-control, open-mindedness and social awareness.

All upper school applicants to Noble and Greenough School are strongly recommended to take The Character Skills Snapshot. For students who take the SSAT, there is no charge to take The Snapshot. Once you register for an SSAT, you will have access to The Snapshot. For more information on The Snapshot click here.

Complete your application

Your application and all related documents must be submitted by January 15, 2019 through your Ravenna account. Follow the steps to submit required forms and pay the non-refundable application fee ($60 for domestic applicants and $100 for international applicants).  Nobles will provide fee waivers to qualifying families, which can be obtained by contacting our office at admission@nobles.edu. Thank you for your interest in Nobles! We look forward to getting to know you during the admission process.
