On June 12, nearly 50 Nobles graduates of color gathered in Boston at Darryl’s Corner Bar and Kitchen to celebrate the beginning of summer and to welcome the newest members of the graduate community. The Class of 2019 came out strong! It was great to have a mix of younger and older graduates to share common experiences, network and kickstart the summer. The graduates spanned nearly 50 years, from 1974–2019.

Senam Kumahia ’02, who takes on the role of president of the Graduates Council this fall, and Head of School Cathy Hall both addressed the group. Priscilla Singleton-Eriyo ’19 also shared her work from her senior project, which involved reorganizing programming for graduates of color and working with the office of graduate affairs to establish “Grad 2 Grad,” an affinity space for graduates of color designed to mirror the current student affinity groups Brother 2 Brother, Sister 2 Sister and Asian 2 Asian. For more information on the group or upcoming events, including the Nwanagu Family Dinner slated for November 25, please email kbrown99@nobles.edu or visit our graduate calendar.
