After a collective 74 years of working for Nobles, Mike O’Neil, Robin Kenny and Judith Merritt retired early this summer to begin the next chapters of their lives.

In 32 years, Mike O’Neil has worn every hat the Buildings and Grounds department has to offer. When trying to pin down his job title, Barbara Murphy offered, “You can say ‘painter,’ but he’s really done everything.”
Robin Kenny’s legendary knowledge of all things athletics has made her a cornerstone of the Nobles Athletic Department for the past three decades. With affection and gratitude, she reflects on her lifelong association with Nobles and her time as the assistant athletic director and equipment manager.
As assistant registrar in 2003 and registrar since 2004, Judith Merritt has performed many critically important tasks that kept the school running smoothly. As she prepares for retirement, Merritt reflects, “It’s time to end this chapter and get ready for the next one, hard as it is.” She now hopes to “find the learning in the transition” away from Nobles.
