On Thursday, December 2, all of Nobles’ middle and upper school vocal groups—Middle School Chorus, Half-Notes, Imani, Chamber Singers, Concert Choir, Greensleeves, Nobleonians, and Noteorious—took the stage for their first live concert in two years. It was also the first since the Lawrence Auditorium renovation!

The audience was transported through a variety of genres and eras, from the Chamber Singers’ “Circlesong” to welcome back the community, to pop and folk favorites from the a cappella groups, to a stirring version of “We Shall Overcome” by Imani. Imani, for the first time in Nobles’ history, includes members of both the upper and middle school as well as faculty. Directors Nhung Truong-Lustig and Michael Turner cheered on all the students and embraced at the end of the concert, after a period during the pandemic that presented overwhelming challenges to musicians.
