On November 12, 2015, more than 400 graduates, parents and friends of Nobles gathered in Morrison Athletic Center to celebrate Nobles Night.
Head of School Robert P. Henderson Jr. ’76 thanked guests for coming and shared that the Be Nobles Bold campaign had surpassed $94 million. He also announced a two-year extension of the campaign to accommodate the construction of a new library and a dramatic renovation of Baker Science Center.
As of Nobles Night 2014, $74 million had been raised for the campaign. With the help of volunteer leadership, Nobles has raised an additional $20 million in the last year.
Henderson thanked Annual Nobles Fund parent co-chairs Rachel and Eric Freeman’84 and Erin and Craig Majernik; graduate co-chairs Brian O’Neill ’89 and Mark Sullivan ’95; the Annual Nobles Fund Executive Committee; and Deanna and Tony DiNovi and Tona and Bob White, who are leading the First Class Fund for Faculty efforts.
Henderson also recognized Andrea Pape Truitt ’75, who received the Richard T. Flood Award in honor of Richard T. Flood ’23, founder of the Annual Nobles Fund in 1930.
For more than a decade, Pape Truitt has been the school’s “go-to” volunteer for the Class of 1975 serving as both a class agent and class correspondent, and most recently as a member the Annual Nobles Fund Executive Committee, Henderson said. She played a pivotal leadership role on the Class of 1975’s 40th Reunion Committee.
“She is hardworking, thoughtful, responsive and unwavering in her commitment,” Henderson said. She has proven to be one of the ANF’s best and most engaged volunteers.”
Finally, Henderson also introduced a video, highlighting the bold and bright progress of the Annual Nobles Fund and First Class Fund for Faculty, which stand at more than $4 million. Watch the video here to see the final numbers.
