On the morning of April 3, 2017, the last steel beam was installed in the frame for the new Academic Inquiry Center in a "topping off" ceremony. Representatives from the building committee, business and development offices took a hard hat tour through the construction site before the last beam, adorned with an American flag was hoisted into position. Head of School Bob Henderson thanked Shawmut Design and Construction for bringing everybody together and congratulated the team on the project's on time and on budget progress. After some sledgehammer finessing, the beam was secured and work continued on the next phase of the project.
